In one full paragraph (try to write at least 6 to 8 sentences) describe all that you accomplished in the library these past three classes, what you feel you need to do better, and what you need help with. Due before the end of class.
Throughout the past three classes that we had in the library, i accomplished alot to complete my essay. I figured out what my thesis statement was going to be which is a big step in starting to write. I also found two very good secondary sources to help me. One of them was from a book entitled,'Contemporary Literary Criticism' and the other book was called 'Literature and Its Times'. I found very good articles in these books about Holden's failure. I have acquired quite a bit of knowledge from these articles which is going to make the process of writing my essay very simple. The only thing that I might need help on when I begin writing is the organization of my essay, because I tend to ramble, and repeat myself many times.
In the library this week i had read a few books. Took down a few notes about holden in the Cather and The Rye. I read how Holden is a sixteen year old boy that would rather be an adult then a teenager. He trys to fit in with the older crowds. I also learned that he is a "phony" himself. Well how J.D Salinger discribed holden, he seems lost. Inside his own little world.
i have researched into emotional termoil. I chose 4 quotes that describe and help me determine that holden has some type of mental illness. my topic wasnt an easy one to find research on, but i have found what i need to make the common task.most of my research was found from the text itself and the boks that we were given the privlege to use were only a little usefull for my topic. the novels for students book was a great recorce. i am now prepared to begin brainstorming and begiing a first draft on my common task for english 11.

The book was a pretty good one but the topic I had was interesting because it talks about that and it's not boring at all. In the library they gave me a lot of information about my topic but it moved on to other topics quick because mostly on chapter 9, the whole chapter talks about sex so it was easy for me to find information about that so that covered my whole 2 sources but need one more to complete. But overall I still feel accomplished for what I did and got a lot from the books and the sources I have.

In the library these past three classes i have gathered information that criticized the novel The Catcher in the Rye. The information that I gathered focused on growing up and how Holden Cawfield is not ready for it. The information talked about Holden being immature and that he shows that he wants to be grown up. Like when he trys to buy drinks at the bar. And he thinks he looks older because of a gray patch of hair, but it isnt fooling anyone. Also he tries to make him self look older when giving more money to the bellhop. This novel also talks about how he hates phonies when he is actualy the biggest phony of them all.
I may need help putting in all together. For some odd reason when i am writting about a story I tend to summerize about what i read. And i also have a problem with repeating what i write without realiseing that i wrote it agian. once i get writting and going in the right direction, i can usaully take off from there. but i alwasy need help starting out my essays. and i would also just need to make sure that i dont get off topic. Or ditracted from my work. :)
FAILURE: Durning the past three days in the library I have found my two sources from books in the library and one quote from the book (Catcher and the Rye). The quote i've selected from Catcher in the Rye ties into my two sources i've found in the library. The research topic I have choosen is Failure. I thought this was a good topic to choose because i've noticed while i'm reading that Holden doen't care if he fails or not. He basically sets himself up for failure. In the book there are alot of good quotes I can use to discribe Holdens failures.

Hello all. I am really impressed with how much everyone has accomplished, and I want to stress that we will be working through the writing process together. So don't worry about pulling it all together.
When you have a draft to work from, it is much easier to revise than it is to start PERFECTLY. No one can write a perfect paper the first time out. When you have something to work with, even if it is not very good, you have a real chance of doing very well!

When my class went to the library for two days we had to find a three resource about the emotional termal for the book "Catch in the rye". I got 3 defferent resources, i used the packet to find two source there then i used the book to find my last source and now i finished everything
In the last couple days we've spent in the library, I feel I have accomplished a lot. I had nothing done until we went to the libary. I found two sources other then the primary source that connect to my thesis. In those three sources I have at least ten quotes written down. In my opinion I need to concenrate better and stop talking. I would get more work done that way. I need help with shortening my thesis sentence and my introduction. I have never written a research paper before,only narrative essays and short stories so this is new to me. I am nervous for my final product.
I have half of my paper done. I have 1.5 pages done, Got all my reasearch down & my 3 Sources down.
